Meet Janah: Debater, Student Leader, Podcaster.
May 12, 2022It’s so easy to say to someone, “All you have to do is ask.” Easier said than done, right? And yet, so few teenagers, and dare I say adults are willing to ask for help.
Afraid to ask for help? No, not Janah. In fact, Janah seeks out every opportunity possible, asks every willing adult for help, googles everything, and finds advice from YouTube. Basically, this girl leaves no stone unturned.
Debate, school leadership, PALS application process, Dream College Academy, Chicago Scholars, and starting her own podcast: Janah figures out how to navigate high school ensuring she leaves her mark on her community.
Matthew 7:7 says 7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” When we can instill this resourcefulness in our children and teens, they (and we) are better for it. Life is hard enough to navigate on your own, so take Janah’s lead and ask for assistance along the way.
Hear in her own words what she asked for and how she advanced at every step of her journey.
Janah came to us just after sophomore year when she joined Dream College Academy and later became a private client and alumna of College Essay Bootcamp. As a private client there is nothing we did not talk about, think through, plan for, and execute. With regular meetings and the use of the Marco Polo app, Janah had me as coach, mentor, and cheerleader at every step of the way.
